Chronology
Alain Blanchard (1947–2025) is a French sculptor and ceramicist born in Nantes. Trained in decorative arts, he discovered ceramics in the early 1970s and spent time in La Borne, a major center for contemporary pottery, where he deepened his mastery of stoneware and firing techniques. He went on to collaborate with the Keraluc faience factory before founding the Poterie du Méjou Roz in Brittany. His artistic language combined wheel-throwing and modeling with a strong influence from the natural world. Today, his legacy lives on through the work of his children, who continue to run the family workshop.
