Chronology

School of Decorative Arts in Paris, drawing and sculpture section and drawing classes at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière.
1939-1945: she produced fashion accessories for the great couturiers and then Colette Gueden called upon her talent.
1946 : she married the painter René Legrand, of whom she had 4 children, and set up her workshop on rue d'Alésia in Paris where she produced utilitarian pottery. Her husband worked with her until 1954.
1947-1958: She exhibited with decorators such as Sermadiras or Merceron and in prestigious galleries: Denise Breteau (1948), l'Arcade, la Porte Ouverte, la Demeure (1955), Salon de l'imagerie (1949), SAD, Salon des ateliers d'Art where she met Jacques Blin and became a member of the Chambre syndicale. 1954-56 : Hiring of the turner Klaus Shultze. In 1956, at the same time, she launches with her husband a furniture publishing house and opens, under the name 'Les 4 saisons' three stores in Paris.
1958 : moving to Champigny on the banks of the Marne and hiring the turner Michel Lanos, Mado Jolain puts ceramics at the service of nature and produces for the garden : claustras, pot covers, ceramic flowers and ornamental gears.
1963 : commandes de claustras par Daniel Collin architecte paysagiste à la Direction des jardins de la ville de Paris.
1964 : voyages au Japon et en Angleterre sur le straces de Shoji Hamada et Bernard Leach.
1970 : séparation d’avec René Legrand, elle arrête la céramique.
1972-85 : ell déménage et ouvre deux magasins à l’enseigne “Les 4 saisons” à Avignon et à Aix-en-Provence.
2000 : Exposition à la galerie A Rebours de Patrick Favardin. 2016 : Exposition à la galerie Artrium Thomas Fritsch.
